Chelsea and Arsenal in fresh battle

The Daily Express says reports in Italy says Arsenal and Chelsea are in talks with Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic.
Mandzukic’s agent was in London Friday to get a better sense of the two clubs intentions with respect to his client.
The Croatian is likely to be one of the hottest properties on the transfer market should he decide to leave the Allianz Arena and it seems that both Arsenal and Chelsea have been given a chance to land the 27-year-old.
Mario Mandzukic is precisely the kind of lump to appreciate his patronage, and will be displaced this summer when Robert Lewandowski arrives in Munich.Mourhino lamented the lack of goals from his strikers this season, and at some point had to rely on his midfielders to score the goals. He has also been chasing Falcao,Cavani,Costa and Most recently Rooney. However Mandzukic will be a cheaper and reasonable option.
Across London, Arsenal are also seeking a striker, with Olivier Giroud consumed by not being especially good – a transgression for which he has yet to apologise on Twitter. Unsurprisingly, given the desire to find a player who fits with the ethos of the club, they appear to have settled on Mario Balotelli, a temperamental prima donna whose self-regard far outweighs his achievements. Balotelli is said to be unhappy in Milan, crying when he was substituted against Napoli last week, and accordingly, Kieran Gibbs will be eager to help him integrate.
Wenger would do perfectly well to sign Mandzukic as cover for Giroud or first choice striker, either way he’ll be a perfect inclusion to the arsenal team.
