Chelsea wants to swap Lukaku for Everton Player

Chelsea are ready to offer Everton the services of in-form striker Romelu Lukaku in exchange for England starlet Ross Barkley according to the Sunday People.

It’s a deal that shows Jose Mourinho’s commitment to a more measured approach to the transfer market, no doubt influenced by UEFA’s FFP (Financial Fair Play) guidelines and it’s an offer that may just tempt Toffees boss Roberto Martinez into selling 20 year old midfielder Barkley.

Mourinho sees Barkley as an ideal replacement for veteran Frank Lampard, who is set to move to the MLS at the end of the current campaign and such a move would make room for Barkley, who has had an excellent season thus far.

Lukaku has proven a big success at Goodison Park, netting 12 goals in 21 Premier League starts this season, and a permanent switch to Everton may interest the Belgian international, especially if Martinez can secure European football for next term.

Jose Mourinho apparently fell out with Lukaku following the European Super Cup defeat to Bayern Munich, which led to his being loaned out to Everton and seemingly frozen out of first team action at Stamford Bridge.

A move to Chelsea will aid Barkley’s push for a prominent role in Roy Hodgson’s England set-up but he will hope for guarantees of regular first team football before agreeing a move to the West London club.
