Manchester United turn to Sir Alex Ferguson for help
Its like troubled Manchester United will turn to recently retired manager Sir Alex Ferguson for help, it has been revealed.
Sir Alex Ferguson will hold talks with the Glazer family over the summer to discuss the future of Manchester United boss David Moyes.
Despite the recent upturn in results, the Daily Mail claims the United board will consider the manager's position at the end of the season after a difficult first season.
The Glazers are ready to spend big in the summer, with up to £200m available to the manager.
But the United board wants assurances from Ferguson before it entrusts Moyes with the task of completely overhauling the United squad.
Options to replace Moyes would be limited, with Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho - two under consideration last summer - both firmly settled at Bayern Munich and Chelsea respectively.
Ferguson's former assistant manager Carlos Quieroz is touted as a possible short term replacement if results go south again, while a Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes combination would be extremely risky considering the lack of coaching experience.
However, the speculation is likely to be moot as Ferguson is almost certain to back the man he selected to replace him in the United dug-out ten months ago.
Moyes has endured a disappointing first season so far, but shoots of recovery were evident against West Ham on Saturday evening.
A Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Shinji Kagawa attacking trio looked promising for United, although it remains to be seen what that would mean for injured first-choice Robin van Persie.
