Toshack-Bale was Stupid

Real Madrid winger, Gareth Bale was made the scapegoat following his side’s 2-1 loss to Sevilla at midweek.

The Welshman was changing his boots in the middle of the match, as Sevilla stormed down the left side (his side), where Ivan Raktic made a beautiful pass to Carlos Bacca who scored the winning goal.

In a recent interview with Spanish sports daily, Marca, former Real Madrid and Wales national team coach John Toshack cannot believe that Bale would do something as trivial as changing his boots, in the 78th minute, when Sevilla were in the middle of developing a play, which eventually led to the game-winner.
“Bale changing his boots 70 minutes in – leaving the pitch to change them – is criminal; the coach should give him the silent treatment for a month. At Liverpool, the club I grew up at, it would be simply inconceivable. ”
Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti avoided the question at his Friday press conference, stating “I don’t think it was the best time for him to change his boots.”
