Every so often, Dutch coach Raymond Verheijen decides to blow some steam off about either David Moyes or Arsene Wenger and last night, it was the turn of Moyes again.
From dinosaur tactics to blame falling at the feet of Sir Bobby and Sir Alex, Verheijen’s no holds barred attack scythed Moyes in every conceivable way but it wasn’t just the Scot who had the finger pointed at him.
Verheijen accused Robin van Persie of lying both about Moyes at Manchester United and his future at the club.
All season long, Verheijen (being Dutch) held a personal vendetta against Moyes because of Van Persie’s injury problems so anything he says when it comes to him, it’s hard not to think there is a subjective motive behind it – this being the latest example of such a thing.
